Indication
    It is indicated for the treatment of following infections:
    Respiratory tract infections: Sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis,     pneumonia, emphysema, lung abscess. 
    Urinary tract infection: Nephritis, pyelonephritis, pyelitis, cystitis, urethritis, gonorrhoea.   
    Skin and soft tissue infection: Cellulitis, wounds, carbuncles, furunculosis, abscesses.
    Other infections: Enteric fever, typhoid and paratyphoid fever. Also in meningitis after initial parenteral therapy, septicemia, osteomyelitis.
Dosage and administration
Adult Dosage: Usual daily dose is 250 mg three times daily. The dose may be increased to 500 mg three times daily for severe infections.
Children's dosage: 125 mg thrice daily. In severe infection, the dose can be doubled.
Or, as directed by the physicians.
Contraindication
A previous history of hypersensitivity to penicillin is a contraindication.
Side effects
The most common untoward effects include skin rashes, nausea, vomiting, transient diarrhoea, inflammation of oral mucosa, eosinophilia etc. The hypersensitivity reactions reported are skin eruption, urticaria and other serum sickness reactions, laryngeal edema and anaphylaxis.  
Pharmaceutical precaution
Store in a cool, dry place and protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.

Demox-250 Capsule: Box containing 10×10 capsules in blister pack.
Demox-500 Capsule: Box containing 5×10 capsules in blister pack.
Demox Suspension: Bottle containing dry granules for preparation of 100 ml suspension.
